Bio & Artistic Background
Vivian Nho is a Toronto based artist who began painting for an audience in 2020. She developed this skill under the tutelage of Joe Kelly at St. Matthew High School in Orleans, Ontario. She has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Science in International Relations from the University of Bristol, and is currently completing a Masters in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Vivian’s paintings are both figurative and abstract, characterized by bright jewel tone colors, geometric shapes, metallic ink and fine lines. It has been described as neocubist, which is a representation of her postmodern philosophy. Her work aims to bring viewers into alternate dimensions of reality where objects or beings are deconstructed, embellished and seen in a new, more vibrant light. Hard edge, eclectic, and psychedelic are some words that describe her artistic style. Subjects range from musical muses and friends (furry and human) to landscapes and architecture.
